The Expansions Initiative

The Expansions Initiative aims to diversify the pipeline of future political methodologists through undergraduate training and mentorship. Underrepresented minority students are chosen to become Expansions Initiative Fellows. Participants attend in online methodology training through the ICPSR Summer Program at the University of Michigan. In the fall, students are paired with a faculty mentor, and paid to participate in a research project as research assistants.
