Kalin Baca

Kalin Baca co-founded Icorium Engineering with KU Professor Mark Shiflett. Based at the KU Innovation Park, Icorium commercializes technology that separates refrigerant mixtures used in everything from home air conditioners to commercial chillers and reuses the components in refrigerants and other products. Baca helped develop this technology while studying with Shiflett to earn her doctorate from the KU School of Engineering.

Baca’s team now includes seven full-time employees, including some fellow Jayhawks. She is motivated by the opportunity to create impact through people and novel technology. Baca loves the community and the support she has found in Kansas.
